Thanks for your interest in joining the Roosevelt Connections Crew!
Connections is a 1-year program (Academic year) that supports students in shaping a more inclusive and connected school community. Together, a diverse group of 12 dedicated students (Crew members) plan and facilitate activities for other students that promote inclusivity and a sense of belonging in their schools.
Crew members develop leadership skills, make new friends, and leave a lasting impact on the Roosevelt High School community. Each Crew member can also earn up to 60 service learning credits upon completing the program!
The Connections Program has two parts: LEARNING AND DOING.
During Semester 1, students learn about belonging, leadership, teamwork, allyship and antiracism through interactive workshops and field trip experiences. Then in Semester 2 they plan and execute inclusive activities for their peers.
Semester 1:
1) One weekly Afterschool workshop/activity on Tuesdays 4pm-6pm AND...
2) An afterschool field trip every Wednesday 3:00pm-6pm.
Semester 2: Commitment will depend on activities planned and timing.
Hurry as there are only 12 Crew member spaces available! Successful Crew members will be informed the first week of October.
